if you haven't heard of DSPS, this could be the right time..
basically it's a sleeping disorder, often misdiagnosed as insomnia.. DSPS sufferers are what the majority calls "night owls".. they have problems going to seep, regardless how tired they are.. since they also need about 8-10 hours of sleep a day, a normal lifestyle of 9 to 5 means they have to get up after just 3 or 4 hours of sleep..
this means they are usually drowsy and tired, and tend to oversleep at weekends to make up for the lost sleep during the week..
the overall lack of sleep makes them moody.. it's difficult to enjoy life when you don't sleep.. and in the long term, the syndrome leads to depression..
after 17 years of being labelled "lazy", i've discovered the real problem..
i've been sleeping 3 hours a day for the last week.. cannot sleep before 3 or 4 am, but always have to get up early for work, feeling like shit..
the demon is called DELAYED SLEEP-PHASE SYNDROME, and about 7% of us suffer from it.. there is no cure, only moderately successful treatment.. it's genetic, and nearly everyone in my family has it..
i am looking forward to the weekend...
